letter to Barbara Boxer regarding auto industry

Senator Boxer,
I'm a huge supporter of your policies dating back to your immortal vote in resolution 114, and I just wanted to express my immense concern with talks of the auto-maker bailout.

Although I feel strongly about the protection of the workers and their families, I do not feel a bail-out, or in other words an investment of tax-payers money WITHOUT their consent, is the right move or in any way justified. If anything, we need to turn our focus to the auto and transportation companies, the nascent, fledgling "green" companies who have a different set of priorities, many of them based right here in California. These are the companies that are missing chances and opportunities to get government assistance and take their businesses to the next level. These are companies that can grow and absorb the current and upcoming generation of auto workers across the country.

America is not about saving the dinosaurs, America is about fostering innovation and bringing in the new without forgetting where we came from and who got us there; the middle class.

Sincerest Regards,
Ryan Gordon
